Sunflower Lanyard Program
HART is proud to join the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program, a global initiative that supports individuals with non-visible disabilities such as autism, dyslexia, multiple sclerosis, etc. The program uses a green lanyard with yellow sunflowers to help riders discreetly signal they may need additional assistance while traveling.
As part of this effort, HART is expanding employee training to better recognize and respond to the sunflower symbol, reinforcing its commitment to accessible service. Sunflower lanyards are available upon request at the customer service windows at the Marion Transit Center and University Area Transit Center and can be used across the transit system.
This initiative is part of HART’s broader commitment to ensuring every rider feels supported, respected, and able to travel with confidence.
At Hillsborough Transit Authority (HART), our commitment to accessibility for all customers begins with this website and our efforts to ensure that all functions and content are usable by everyone.
We are continuously working toward meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA standards. These guidelines help make online content accessible to customers with sensory, cognitive, and mobility disabilities — and ultimately benefit all users, regardless of ability.
Our ongoing efforts are focused on making goHART.org as accessible as possible. HART welcomes feedback from customers on how we can continue to improve the accessibility of our website for all.
You can report an accessibility issue with our website, or provide ways to improve access, by emailing the HART Digital Accessibility Specialist at
