Transit Terms

Local Route Service

Local routes are your typical, frequent stop bus service.  Local routes are priced $1.75 for a standard one-way ticket, or $3.75 for a 1-day pass.

Limited Express

Limited Express service is a hybrid of sorts. The service offers limited stops in comparison to local route service, but too many stops to be considered Commuter Express service. Limited Express routes are priced the same as local route bus service ($1.75 for a standard one-way ticket).

Commuter Express

Commuter Express service is a limited stop service that operates during morning and evening commutes. Commuter Express features even less stops than Limited Express and Local service. A one-way Commuter Express ticket is $2.75 with a 1-day Express pass at $5.50.

HARTFlex

HARTFlex is an on-demand, door-to-door van-based service open to all passengers. HARTFlex has the advantages of a traditional fixed bus route with the convenience of curbside pickup. One-way fares are just 85¢, with a 1-day Unlimited Ride farecard only $1.85.

MetroRapid

MetroRapid is a new enhanced bus service from HART, featuring limited stops, offboard ticketing, traffic signal prioritzation technology and more to speed up travel time.  MetroRapid North-South is planned to begin operations from downtown Tampa via Nebraska Avenue to the vicinity of Telecom Park on Fletcher Avenue. The project is expected to begin in early 2013.  More information on the project can be found here.
